The course offers a broad survey of canonical texts that have opened these questions from Ancient to Contemporary Political Theory. This course will explore the fundamental questions of politics. How are we to live together? What and how much should be shared? What is justice? What is order? What is freedom? Is freedom contingent on the existence of slavery and servitude? What is equality? And, centrally, how have the questions shaped their attendant answers?
